Startup Tycoon privacy policy

Startup Tycoon is made by Sarim Khawaja, in Canada. You can reach us at [email protected]. This policy covers the Startup Tycoon app for Android.
The short version
Startup Tycoon has no accounts, no ads and no analytics, and the game plays without an internet connection. The app only sends us something when you press Send in the feedback box. Everything else stays on your phone unless you choose to send it somewhere.
What stays on your phone
The game keeps these on your device. We can't see any of it.
- Your saved games, scores and settings.
- A random number the game makes to tell your device's files apart. It isn't linked to your name or your phone.
- Your play log, if you turn recording on. It's off unless you turn it on. It notes the screens you open, the weeks you play, your cards and decisions, and any errors. It doesn't record your name or anything you type.
- Any quiz answers.
- Class assignment progress and results, if you joined one with a teacher's code.
Feedback you send us
If you press Send in the feedback box, the app sends us:
- What you wrote, and the topic and mood you picked, if you picked them.
- Your game version, the screen you were on, your screen size and your browser type.
- If you leave "Include where I am in the game" ticked: your place in the run, such as the week and your game money, and your recent moves in the game.
We don't ask for your name, so please leave out anything personal. The feedback doesn't include your company's name or any id for your device. We use it to fix problems and improve the game. It's stored on servers run by Cloudflare, our hosting provider, which sees your internet address when you send it. We don't store that address. We delete feedback after one year.
Feedback from a class assignment is never sent.
Files and email
The game can save a file, such as your play log or a class result, and it opens your phone's share menu so you can pick where it goes. Nothing leaves until you do that. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you wrote. We use it to reply and to improve the game, and we delete it when we no longer need it.
You got this app through Google Play, and Google handles installs, reviews and crash reports under Google's privacy policy. If you have Android backup turned on, Android may copy the app's data to your Google account. You control that in your phone's settings.
Children
Startup Tycoon is intended for adults. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Your choices
- To delete what's on your phone, clear the app's storage or uninstall the game. We can't recover a save you've deleted.
- To delete feedback you sent, email [email protected] and tell us what it said, because we can't link it to you any other way.
Changes
If the game starts handling your data differently, we'll update this page and the date at the top before that version goes out.
